Raccoon Cocoon: A Cozy Puzzle Game is a short game about organizing items into patterns. It challenges you to see what all the objects have in common, and picture different ways you could put them in rows to make a more pleasing picture.

The Gameplay of Raccoon Cocoon

Raccoon Cocoon plays a lot like A Little to the Left, which is a game I love a whole lot. You pick up and drag items into new locations, filling in holes in shelves, empty spaces in drawers, and filling up sections of organizers. The result is always a cute pattern and a feeling that everything is in its place. There isn’t a story to Raccoon Cocoon; it’s mostly just a random collection of puzzles that all have the same organizational theme.

Ah, yes, now it is perfect.

Most of the puzzles are pretty easy, and I feel that most kids that are old enough to read would probably enjoy it. There are one or two puzzles that are extremely challenging, but there is a built-in hint system to help you get through all of those. Adults would definitely be able to enjoy this game too; I certainly enjoyed my time with it. I could see this one being a great thing for parents to play with their kids as well.

The hint system is really easy to use as well; you just press the hint button at the top, and a little drop down gives you a clue without ruining the whole puzzle.

Hmm…

The Pros and Cons of Raccoon Cocoon

Raccoon Cocoon: A Cozy Puzzle Game is a very fun, very cute, colorful, and relaxing game that is family-friendly. You don’t have to think too hard about all the puzzles, and everything is chill. The music is calming, there are no time limits, and it is very low stakes. Overall, it’s a pleasant time hanging out in a world where things are simple, adorable, and silly.

However, I did have some issues with Raccoon Cocoon. Unlike the game it appears to be based on, there is no feeling of a story or anything that ties the puzzles together to make them feel like a cohesive whole. It’s fun, but I think the missing story really stands out after you have played A Little to the Left and all its DLCs.

It’s time for snow!

The sound design and music are pretty mid. There is only one song that plays, and it just is a short loop on repeat forever. The noises some of the puzzle pieces make could be worked on; there is one noise that the rotating puzzles make that makes me want to never wear headphones ever again. It’s pretty grating.

I think it is missing a little bit of polish, a little bit of additional love that would make it almost as good as A Little to the Left and other, similar puzzle games.

Cute!

Conclusion

Overall, I enjoyed my time with Raccoon Cocoon: A Cozy Puzzle Game. I wish it had a little more of a story and a little bit more care taken with the sound design. But the puzzles are cute and fun.

The game is pretty short, but the price matches up very well with how many levels are available and how much time you will be able to put into it. It’s short, it’s sweet, it’s fun, and if anyone likes these types of games, you will also like Raccoon Cocoon.

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot
I like it a lot
